Best of Paris Photography Course
International | 8 Hours | Suits all levels
Just being in one of the world's most beautiful and romantic cities is a pleasure in itself..... the buildings, the women, capturing Parisian street life, cafes, tiny squares, the flower lined Champs-Elysees, photographing the Eiffel Tower in the afternoon light, the stunning spectacle of the Notre Dame cathedral, the magnificence of the Arc de Triomphe at night, the classic beauty of the Jardin de Tuileries and more.
Our course begins with a briefing at our Hotel Bretagne and we are soon shooting the Parisian street life with its diverse mix of faces reflecting its western and eastern cultures, capturing the traditional Parisian elements of artists, lovers, intellectuals and philosophers. Old-fashioned French flavours have not been lost – men in berets still play boules on the Quai de la Seine, and bourgeois Madames sitting in cafes nonchalantly feed tit bits to their poodles.
Our walk takes us around Jarin Des Tuileries, to the Louvre, across Pont Neuf and taking pictures of the beautiful soaring gothic columns and 16th century stained glass windows in Notre Dame and nearby St Gervais. It's then onto the Rue Des Rosiers before exploring the Latin quarter and Sorbonne with its cafes, bookshops and antique shops. Hopping on the Metro we savour the vistas of Paris from Montmatre with its quaint old houses and lively Mouffetard market and visit the beautiful church of St Etienne-du-Mont. A picturesque route takes us to city vineyards, old cobbled streets and artists' studios where Renoir and Van Gogh painted.
We then take a small train ride to the incomparable Palace of Versailles with its beautiful classical gardens, fountains and opulent setting and then its on into the evening shooting the Eiffel Tower and strolling up the most famous avenue in the world the Champs-Elysées with workshops on night photography. We finish with the option of dinner at Chartier 7 in Montmartre.
