Our walk encompasses the old and the new, sharp geometric lines to soft, romantic hues, close-up photography to panoramic vistas down the harbour. We examine form and texture, patterns, framing the picture, camera tilt, leading lines and the rule of thirds. Throughout, you learn how to maximize the full functionality of your camera.

We explore the unusual angles of the Sydney Opera House and the serenity of the Botanical Gardens. Walking around Circular Quay we photograph buskers, mime artists and other interesting characters. We take you down cobblestone lanes, up to Observatory Hill and under the Harbour Bridge with a portrait shoot to demonstrate lens perspective.

Then its onto Pier 4 finger wharf with its textured, rustic facades and fine views of the Sydney Harbour Bridge. Rain or shine, winter or summer, its ever changing moods and variety of photographic subjects makes the Rocks and Gardens workshop one of the best ways over a short time frame to quickly improve your photographic skills.
