■ This course is suitable for intermediate to serious amateurs and pro photographers alike. If you are a beginner it is a pre-requisite you have to have done a one or 2 day Beginners Photo course . If you are unsure about your competency in photography we have a simple photography test we will send you. 

■  It's essential to have some background photography knowledge, the course is easy to understand, step by step procedures to teach you every facet of camera handling skills and compositional, lighting and a myriad of other techniques to become a competent wedding photographer

■ What is important is to have good camera gear. Whilst a cheap $500 DLSR is capable of taking good photographs, you need camera gear that reflects your commitment and professionalism to your craft and a bag of quality camera gear does just that. If you are looking to break into the wedding photography business and have not yet purchased any camera gear -  we will send you a suggested camera gear list to reflect your commitment and budget. We also rent quality camera gear. 

■ Any full or cropped frame DSLR camera or mirrorless camera is ideal. Full frame cameras with their bigger sensors will give better results in certain situations. For this course one DLSR or mirrorless camera is sufficient. For shooting weddings you also need a back up camera in case of equipment failure

■ We also suggest you also have a quality compact such as a Sony RX100, Lumix LX100, Fuji or equivalent. These are particularly good as back up cameras

■ The two main lenses in a wedding photographers camera bag would be a 24-70mm and a 70-200mm (preferably on its own dedicated full frame camera body), a wide angle such as a 16-35mm, a telephoto lens eg 70-300mm or a mid range lens (eg 24-105mm or a 24-120mm). A few prime lenses such as a 50mm f1.8 and a portrait 85mm f1.8 is an inexpensive addition to your kit 

■ At least one external on-camera flash unit is essential to do this course. 

■ We highly recommend you have a quality smartphone with at least one optical zoom lens. Great for air dropping samples of the shoot to anyone at the wedding (or wedding planner) or capable of taking a great portrait shot or a selfie in its own right. Also instant posting on social media sites

■ A sturdy tripod, U/V, polarising filters and a 5-in-1 reflector (a 42" one is a good size)

Terms & Conditions when booking this course
Payments
Paying for your course in full upon booking will confirm your attendance. Places are limited to 4 persons on all courses.

Refunds
We reserve the right to cancel and reschedule any course, due to inadequate enrolment, bad weather, instructor illness, an 'act of God' or a force majeure such as a pandemic. As an example, a photography course has to be cancelled or deferred to another date and time due to Covid 19 border closures and lockdowns which is beyond the control of Focus 10 Pty Ltd and other related parties. We also reserve the right to cancel any course if there is insufficient demand, especially if it means that our costs would be higher than our income. Please therefore do not leave it until the last few weeks if you are interested in a particular date, as you may find that it has been cancelled. As our costs for each training event remain the same no matter how many delegates attend, like any pre-booked tickets for the theatre, concert, flights etc, we are unable to give a full refund in the event of non-attendance, regardless of the circumstances. If withdrawal occurs within the 14 days before the course starts we will try to put you on an alternative date if places are available. Please note that we cannot be liable for any other costs incurred by yourself, so please check with us before booking any non-refundable accommodation or transport.

Workshop Photography:
We reserve the right to take photographic, (both still and video) records of any of our workshops/courses which may be used for promotional purposes, submissions, advertising and records. We grant permission for participants to use any images captured by them during this workshop for self-promotion only. Participants may not make any financial gain from any images captured during this workshop/course.

What happens if its raining or there is a storm?
■ We do not give refunds for inclement weather. Modst of the course is shot in an indoor wedding Expo location. We treat bad weather as emulating real life conditions when shooting a wedding. You cannot call the bridal party the day before and tell them you do not feel like shooting their wedding because its raining

■ Bring a raincoat and/or umbrella as some of the best photos are taken in the rain

Is the course guaranteed to run on the scheduled date & time?
■ Our policy is that we guarantee the course will run with a minimum of 2 persons. As in any advertised product or service - events ( such as Covid 19) can occur out of our control. We reserve the right to cancel or defer any course in extenuating circumstances and will give you a refund or credit to do the course on another date. We only run this course twice a year so if you book early you can be pretty sure its going to run. If the course is a few weeks out we suggest you call / email us to
ascertain the course status before booking.

Can I rent a camera system ? Buy SD cards?
■ Yes - we have cropped DLSR Canon and Nikon Cameras for rent. The fee is $60 for the day. Your camera will have a standard 18-55mm lens ( or equivalent) a 70-300mm & a prime 50mm f1.8 lens and a Speedlite flash

■Tripods, reflectors, any filters etc are supplied free of charge

■ Quality 32GB SD cards are available for purchase for $24 per card ( or bring your own SD card)

■ We shoot indoors at Wedding Expos such as the excellent 'One Fine Day' Wedding Expo at White Bay Cruise Terminal, Rozelle
